, Liuzhou doesn't do direct flights to London. So, I’ve got to go the old fashioned way. I’ll take an overnight bus from here to Shenzhen. I have done this before and it has been reasonably pleasant (or at least not unpleasant). However this story in yesterday’s newspaper scared me a bit. Assuming I reach Shenzhen safely, I will walk across the border into Hong Kong. That can take a while. Although we gave it back, HK remains almost exactly the same as before as far as entry visas etc are concerned. I don’t need a visa. My Chinese friends do! However, the border crossing is the busiest in the world and getting more so as more and more mainland Chinese are allowed to visit.
The flight is then around 11 hours. 11 hours of total boredom. I hate flying.
A few days of rushing around England like a madman, then back to sunny Liuzhou. I can't wait!
11 hours, phff, cake walk. Try Cleveland-Detroit (1) then Detroit Tokyo
(13). then 4 more to
Guangzhou, over night there and fly to Liuzhou in the morning. Beihai is
next year for me!
Good luck and be safe! ah Bread and cheese!
Actually, I just checked and the flight is 13 hours! Coming back is only 12
hours. Must be because it is downhill!
