Having received a couple of calls from foreign parts, I'm putting up this short entry to let you know that today's earthquake in Sichuan province has had no effect here and that we are all safe.
It seems it was felt all over China and even as far away as Bangkok. But, despite being not that far from Sichuan, I have heard nothing from Guangxi and certainly not from Liuzhou.
UPDATE: It seems that the quake was felt in some parts of Guangxi (Nanning), but not in Liuzhou.
UPDATE 2: Two days later, the local newspapers are suddenly reporting that it was felt in Liuzhou. Strangely, no one I know felt it. I just think they don't want to be left out.
I just heard from my friend in Nanning. She told me that the local news
reported there would be a little quake in Nanning tonight. I hope it's not
true!
wanna know the lastest voice from chengdu where the earthquake happened?
pls visit leo's blog at http://longhongquan.spaces.live.com/ :-)
My dad felt it while fixing himself up for a cup of tea at home. It last
perhaps just a second. He lives in Liunan district.
