I am delighted to receive a text message from my daughter. Or is it my son? I'm also amazed to find that they can send me text messages in Chinese! However, I'm worried.
The message says:
"Dad, my phone and my money are all lost. Tomorrow morning, please send ¥600 to my friend's account..." then gives the name of the "friend" and the account number.
I'm astonished! My offspring, who are firmly in the UK, have accounts in China's Construction Bank?
Unfortunately, I'm a bit short myself this month, so I can't help! The only thing I can do is pass on the email of some extremely friendly Nigerian chaps who have emailed me to tell me that they are having a few minor difficulty moving millions of dollars out of the country and are willing to share it in return for a little help. That should solve the problem.
