It's raining.

But they are forging ahead with the underground shopping mall in the flood zone!

In addition, we are being sent text messages advising us to close doors and windows; switch off and unplug our computers, phones, televisions etc. during thunderstorms; and not have showers. I don’t get the last part.

Rain = water = electricity conductor.

Amyway, how is the electricity going to get into my shower water?

(BTW, pure water is a perfect insulator, not a conductor. It is the impurities which conduct.)

And if you drink 'pure' water only - you will die as it cannot conduct the electricity need for metabolism.... But all that aside, Liuzhou - and chance of an update on 'Little Sister'??? Please?

When I was a kid a lightning strike hit our house in Illinois and came down through the pipes in the wall. Blew the showerhead completely out of the wall. That's why you don't want to shower during a thunderstorm.

Well, in my admittedly limited experience lightning tends to hit the highest things and then travel downwards. My water pipes comes in at ground level and rises upwards.

And the pipes are are plastic, anyway.

I would love to update you on "Little Sister". I'm (unofficially) told she is doing well, but it was decided by her carers that there had been enough publicity which wasn't exactly helpful.

So, I'm respecting that decision.
