In their customary fashion, the local authorities have been taking one step forward and two back. After many false starts, they really seem to be having a bit of a drive to enforce some some sort of order on Liuzhou's ridiculously chaotic motor scooter situation. They have been stopping people and fining them for various offences.

Or maybe they just need some cash for a banquet or three.
At the same time as they are trying to make life more difficult for the irresponsible, dangerous, selfish idiots who ride these weapons, they are trying to make it easier. For the last few days, there have been a couple of men grinding down any lumpy kerbs to make little ramps for the scooters. We wouldn't want them to hurt their little bottoms, would we?

Of course, riding over pedestrians doesn't matter. Grrrr!
Irresponsible, dangerous, selfish and an idiot. Thanks for that mate! I
guess at some point in my life I've been called all of those things before,
just can't remember a time when all three adjectives were used at the same
time!
Actually I guess that was four adjectives...LOL.
Ha Ha! I wondered how long it would take you to comment!
I do know exactly what you mean. By the way, I came home this afternoon to
find the city was, in all its wisdom, tearing down all the trees along the
road here in front of my house. I'll try and get some photos later. I
can't imagine the reason. Probably making room for more scooter parking!
